FAT GIRLS FLOAT is an independent documentary film in which a 300lb. film maker takes the audience on a journey through fat subculture: activism, social communities, and those who do not let their weight ‘weigh’ them down. Despite many glares, glances, and gloating from media, family members, medical communities and the public-at-large; fat women from four countries tell their tales of sorrow and success. The audience will ultimately find that within the worldwide culture of “thin-is-in;” some women possess an inner strength to persevere through life without remorse or regret-that keep them afloat.
